    Hi,
I uninstalled, after restart, I lost internet access and had to system restore to yesterday 11/12/10.(I uninstalled using 'add/remove programs' in
'control panel') Then I had internet access with ZA icon but no program. So I downloaded latest ZA and all is fine. But it was troubling not have internet access until I did system restore.
Any idea why this happened I am sure the ZA uninstall utility came up, as it asked if I was sure I wanted to uninstall.
This happened a couple of years ago and I had to get MS live help to assist me.
    Thanks Bob

    Hi!

strange, this is not normal. Unistalling routine in latest ZA has been completely re-written to avoid this. May be an indication your system is not in very good shape or tools have messed up with the system (typically registry and system cleaners). May be good to have a refresh of essential installed application (check with this utility) and then clean the system and registry with a solid cleaner (free ccleaner).

Also ensure you are running a good antimalware tool. Never go cheap with security tools.

    Cheers,

    Hi,
Thanks for the info. I ran the utility check, the problem was Adobe Flash.
I'll do the registry cleaner later.
By getting the fresh install of ZA should help, correct?
Could it be that parts of older ZA versions did not completely get removed during upgrades?
Please recommend a antimalware, I currently use AVG 2011, Spybot S&D, ZA of course.
I appreciate your quick responses and support very much
    Thanks so Much, Bob

Cannot be excluded but a remote possibility

Looks good. I would however remove Spybot, it is not anymore up to the standards. You could install instead PREVX safeoline (web protection is free while malware cleaning is not) a modern tool, unintrusive and very powerful.

How would I know if parts of older versions were still there?
    Thanks

Not really possible, first you need to remove ZA and then manually look for left overs as indicated here.

    Hi,
On 11/13/10 when I uninstalled and installed, I noticed in c/windows/ there is 'internet logs' & 'internet logs(2)', 'internet logs' has various ZA files including a 'tvdebug.log'. The 'internet logs(2)' has only 'tvdebug.log', the file in 'internet logs(2)' has earlier time modified date. Can the folder
'internet log(2)' be deleted along with the file?
Also, in the ZA control panel under 'alerts & logs', then 'advanced' there is a button 'delete log', apparently 'archive logs', is there any problem deleting these.
    Thanks Bob

Never heard of internet logs(2), I guess you can safely removed it.
All ZA folders/main files (including 'internet logs') are indicated in the link already provided.

The 'internet logs(2)' appears to be a duplicate of 'internet logs' but with just that one file, tvdebug.log. I should have said they are two separate folders.

Yes, it was clear indeed. Not sure how this has been created. May be a failure of creating the normal one? No idea.

Remove ZA, remove left overs with the guide contained in the link and then reinstall. Done...
