Default [SOLVED] ZA ES - Windows firewall on at the same time. --> Reset ZA settings

So when I randomly checked, the windows firewall was ON.

Home or work private networks that is.

Even after restart it was still on.

What the heck? Only restarting ZA fixed this, I hope it doesnt turn itself off or something.

    Anyone else had this?

You may have Changed the default setting in Zone Alarm Extreme
Firewall / Main page/ Advanced tab..

Here is a Display of the Default ZAES Settings

Make sure that "Disable Windows Firewall" is Check marked

Yeah things were normal in the settings, and now AGAIN the home or work networks firewall in windows was ON.

Until I unchecked and checked the disable firewall on ZA.

This is starting to be annoying

Sorry for doublepost, but I contacted the live customer support and they told me to reset the ZA completely.

    No problems yet

    But thanks George!

Unchecking and checking disable on ZA fixed it, but this is a bit annoying

No other active spyware/virus program except Windows Defender, does that have anything to do with this?

Or the Trusted Zone Security settings?[/QUOTE]

Windows Firewall is turned off by Default when Zone Alarm is installed, to prevent conflict between two firewalls.

To avoid conflicting programs, Remove all 3rd party antivirus and security software

Please remove all 3rd party antivirus and security software. These products will conflict with your ZoneAlarm product and could result in technical or performance problems.

*** NOTICE: Please note that ZAAV, ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

To troubleshoot ZAAV, ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and (if you can't live without the other Security programs - Not Recomended) - Only re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

*** For example, the Following programs may not work well with ZoneAlarm, Kaspersky (KAV) or (KISS),Norton/Symantec, McAfee, Spysweeper, NOD32, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-Virus program, some Anti-Spyware programs, Registry Guard or Registry locking tools, etc...
