    Default Problem with automatic update

    I have been using Zonealarm Pro for a couple of years. Over the past 5 months I have had a major problem with syncing my iphone due to a problem with AVG antivirus and Zonealarm. I switched to AVAST and corrected all but one problem with syncing.

    After searching the zonealarm's forums, I found that there was a problem with the 0.14 engine and itunes. The update to the engine was released some time in Sept. I never received notification of the update and when I manually checked for an update in zonealarm program it reported that I was up to date. I went to zonealarm downloads, located the updated engine and manually updated zonealarm pro. All my problems with syncing my phone resolved.

    Not sure if it was a problem with my installation of zonealarm or are engine updates not detected in the automatic updates. Are only definitions updated????

    Thank you for your help.

    I will periodically check zonealarm release notes to be sure my engine is current.

    Yes, minor bug fix releases are not automatically pushed to users, these are normally sent out slowly to minimise potential problems. For the few having known reported problems is of course important to check the release page to check for new versions.

    In other words, your automatic update is not broken

    Thank you for replying. Have been off line so hadn't checked the forum. Appreciate knowing my zonealarm pro is working properly. So far all is well with the current release. No hangs ups or freezes or iphone issues.
