    Default Wake on Lan

    Hi,

I have some problems to wake PCs on lan.
1 -If ZA is not loaded at windows startup: no problem, I can wake all the PCs on the network..
2 -If ZA is loaded automatically with windows: WOL is not working!
3 -If ZA is not loaded at windows startup, but launched then quitted manually: WOL is not working!
How to configure ZA in order WOL works in case 2 (& 3, if possible)?

    Thanks by advance

    OS: Seven 32b
WOL software: Poweroff 3.0.1.3, Port used: 3210. (Tried many others softwares without result)
    ZoneAlarm:
    ZoneAlarm Pro version :9.1.019.000
    Version de TrueVector :9.1.019.000
    Version du pilote : 9.1.019.000

Same exact issue here. ZA Pro 9.1 will not allow WOL packet to be sent over the network. If I exit ZA, Wake On LAN commands work perfectly. Also works fine with ZA Pro 7.0.xx at default settings, but has not worked once since upgrade to 9.1. (WOL does not work with ZA 9.xx FREE version either.)

Need solution ASAP. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Contacted ZA Tech Support. They did not have a solution. The technician stated he would get back to me in 48 hours via email. This was well over a week ago at this point.

There are a number of threads on this topic here. Has anyone found a solution to this issue by chance?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

Have tested Wake on LAN with ZA FREE and All paid versions.

    ZA Free 9.2.076.000

    All ZA Paid versions 9.3.037.000

Wake on LAN functionality works fine ZoneAlarm does not block it with default settings. If you changed any of your ZA setting then that could be the cause of the issue.

Testing environment XP SP3 all critical and non-critical Microsoft updates applied to the PC.

Using a WOL feature in a router firmware to wake PC every 60 seconds.

PC placed in Standby, and Hibernate will power up when wol signal is received with no issue at all.

Its possible the wol method your using is not working properly or has a bug and thus not waking properly with ZA running. Its not a ZA bug.

While Wake on LAN from Solarwinds works fine, WoLEX from

    www . bootblock . co . uk

does not. This latter is a .NET application, and I have also had problems with other .NET apps and ZA (EasyBCD and iReboot are two). Is there any way to tell ZA to work with .NET apps?

    Hi,

I am having the same problem with ZA. I can not wake up my data server as long as ZA is running. As soon as I shut down ZA, the WOL packet cames thru and the server starts.

Same problem is descriped here at the beginning of the thread, but it seems that there was a misunderstanding later. ZA is installed on the machine which sends the packet, not on the machine which should receive the packet.

Is there any solution? Or is it blocked by default? Any ideas?

    System:
    Desktop PC
    Windows 7
    Zonealarm 9.2.058.000
    Truevector Engine 9.2.058.000
    Driver 9.2.031.000
    ZA Browser Security 1.5.232.0
    No other security software installed.

    Hi,

I'm using two computers, one with XP, the other with Win7. On the XP-OS, everything works, as you described, but with Win7, it is still the problem, that WOL doesn't work with ZA running on the latest version. Shutting down ZA solves the problem, but is not any solution.

    Regards.
