Default [SOLVED] EmsiSoft Virus scanner reports trojan in ZZAS --> False Positives

    Hi there,

I recently ran Emsisoft A squared (A2) Scanner and it came back with the detection of a trojan in Zone Alarm files.

I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite 9.3.037.000, TrueVector security engine 9.3.037.000, driver version 9.1.522.000, Anti virus/ Antispyware engine 8.0.2.48 DAT file version 1044470464, AntiSpam version 6.0.0.2383).

    The report was:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\avsys\bases\pbs.kdl - detected: Trojan.SuspectCRC!IK
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\avsys\temp\temporaryF older\bases\av\kdb\i386\win\pbs.kdl - detected: Trojan.SuspectCRC!IK

www.virustotal.com also reports this, but then again only by the EmsiSoft and Ikarus scanners. It might be a false positive, but thought it good to report here...

PS... ZASS itself has not reported this Trojan

    Hi!
sorry, you need to report the issue (false positive) to emisoft and not here...They will follow-up with you on it and fix it. ZA can't fix it

It may happen that if you run overlapping tools to have false positives on antivirus files and signatures.

    Hi there!

After sending them the suspect file received message back from the people from EmsiSoft that they looked at the file and patched their SIG files.

I ran a scan again with the new SIG files and no ZZAS files are flagged/ quarantined any more...

So we were right to suspect a false positive of the EmsiSoft and Ikarus scanners...

Thank you very much Braab for taking the time to report back about it.
I have amended the subject of the thread to reflect the solution.
