    Angry Antivirus won't update, 17% then error message

    Apparently my antivirus/spyware is out of date. I have tried to update numerous times, but each time the update reaches 17%, stays there for a while then it says there is a download error - please does anybody know why it does this and how I can resolve this?? It's been happening all week.

    So you think I'm getting this message as I haven't enough resources on my laptop to allow the update? I've had my laptop for a while now and it's never happened before, I get a separate message saying my antivirus needs a new signature? Sorry for my basic knowledge, I'm no computer buff ! The update sticks at 17% for ages then says "100% complete, download error".

    Not sure what information you require to determine if it IS limited resources but I'm running Windows Vista Basic Service Pack 2, Processor: Intel Celeron 900 @2.2GHz Memory: 3 GB, 500GB hard disk drive with 416 disk space free

    Generally stopping in the middle like that indicates two things.

    Your internet connection is having issues and is timing out. Dial up does this a lot with our Av updates.

    Or some of the AV files on the PC are corrupt.

    I'm not on dial up, my internet connection is strong.

    How would I end up with corrupt AV files?

    It seems the only way I can get help from Zone Alarm Technical Support is if I upgrade to Premium, I can't afford that Guess it's back to ~~snip~~ another product.

    ZA technical support is free of charge for all licensed ZA users (or on trial). There is no premium support for license ZA products unless you are looking for malware clean up or fixing of PC problems outside ZA domain. Click on the technical support link in my signature.

    If you don't have a license and you are not running a trial or using an old unsupported version (6,7, and 8) then the copy of ZA used is most likely fraudolent.

    Every link I used to try and get support led me to the Premium Services upgrade link - the live chat was inactive at the time

    The live chat is always active (except holidays) ... if not just wait a couple of hours.
    Just checked now and it is working fine.

    If you still have problems to contact live chat then you have other issues on the system than ZA such as malware infections or potential blocking entries in the hosts file.
