Default How to check for a virus in a blocked email attachment ?

Hi, still getting used to ZA Security Suite and have just got a new problem with an email attachment that is being bounced back to the sender I assume by my ZA ? It's an important file I need in order to finish programming a very useful product that was sent in the post but was missing the essential microdisk on arrival.

It obviously has an .exe at the end which could well be why it's being rejected by my ZA, however it has arrived in an old Hotmail account I keep for just this purpose though it's still being blocked as well.

Is there any way I can use ZA to check it out first whilst it's still in the Hotmail account without causing any further problems ?

    Thanks in advance

Not sure what version of ZA you use but current version does not have that function. May be its your e-mail client.

Well of course he's saying he's been using this file for ages in his own office and elsewhere for over three years without any virus problems at all and that the fault's my end, but much as I need it I'm really not anxious to download it just in case.

Presumably ZA would immediately quarantine it and it's then gone for good ?

No, ZA will detect it only on-access. i.e. when and if you open it.

It must be something else doing this (e.g. if you use outlook those extensions are automatically blocked).

I only use Gmail otherwise so probably it's automatically blocking it as well ? Never dared go this far before (!) but presumably if ZA does quarantine it to begin with and then I did risk opening it and there is a virus, it's obviously going to be too late ?

ZA will detect the virus on-access. You are indeed still perfectly safe
