    Angry Re: ZAPro 7.0 found trojan in CCleaner 3.04

    I'm using ZoneAlarm 7.0 with CCleaner 3.04 and it keeps trying to access various websites, sending packets outwards. I don't really trust CCleaner, downloaded it from CNet.com(/Download.com) and have had a trojan virus from a FLV converter there before. Sorry to reply 3 years later but I thought I'd share this - ZoneAlarm is flagging CCleaner as attempting to access the net whenever it is loaded... it's trying to access Facebook, chinese servers, google analytics etc.

    Welcome to the Zone Alarm User Forum..

    1.) First step is to make sure that you keep all programs on your computer UPDATED. this includeds Keeping Windows Fully Updated with latest MS Service Packs and Critical Updates, and all Security Programs Updated with latest versions..

    2.) Your ZA Pro 7.0 is Very old and out of date..

    There are 100's of New Virus/Spyware/Malware created and released every day and out of date Security Software may not protect you from these new Threats

    "Computers are Expensive pieces of equipment. For the same reasons that you lock your home and car (to keep others out), you need to have some type of latest version of a Firewall & Antivirus protection on your computer. There is an Arms race out there between Malware producers and Antivirus software producers. and the War Escalates Hourly. "

    Remaining unprotected even for the short period of time it takes to Boot up your computer and manually start ZoneAlarm is a sure-fire way to become collateral damage in this war with Hackers and Malware.

    The Current Zone Alarm Pro is Version 9.3.037.000

    Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and (no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent, uTorrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

    (MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista and Windows7)

    ZoneAlarm Pro firewall updates <== Click Here

    3.) your CCLEANER 3.04 is out of Date

    Sticky: *** CCLEANER v3.05.1409 (Apr. 04, 2011) <=== Click here

    4.) it is BETTER for you to Download Programs directly from the Support Web-site of the Program you want..

    If you have downloaded Corrupt of infected Files from any alternate Download site: then Do not trust that Download site..

    ===========================

    It is normally Helpful when posting here to give full details of your computer setup.

    Give the Exact Type and version of Zone Alarm used, Windows Version used, other security tools installed. is this a First time install?
    Stopped working recently? other issues? Error messages in the ZA logs?

    The More information you post the more likely users here will be able to understand the issue and try to help.

    also is this a DeskTop, Laptop computer or Netbook.

    Please List any other Security Programs installed as these programs may be conflicting with Zone Alarm.
