I have the same problem with vsmon and it is affecting several computers, all v9.037 and all but one running WinXP.
In one situation the system will slow to a crawl and Task Manager will show vsmon using large amounts of resources. This can go on for long periods of time. It can cause Internet access to drag and other processes to take a long time to open.
In another situation, which may be unrelated, I have seen a funny arrow on the Zone Alarm Z logo in the system tray. A mouse-over reveals that an update is running. There is no mention of what the update is and no way to stop it. It can run for hours.
One of the systems is a Windows Virtual PC, which is already slow, hosted on another system also protected by Zone Alarm. The vsmon problem and the update problem rendered the virtual machine useless, pegging the CPU usage at 100% and causing programs to take up to 5 minutes to load. ~snip~
My Windows 7 system is not having the problem but for some reason I do not see vsmon running.
I need to resolve this quickly. The license for the system running the virtual PC expires in two weeks. The license for the systems running Zone Alarm Extreme expires in two months. ~snip~
