Thread: Download scan

    Default Download scan

Just updated to ZA Extreme ver# 10.0.240.000. I am using Win7 64bit, with everything up to date. In prior versions of ZA, when you downloaded a file, a box would open up, showing the progress of the download and when finished would scan and advise file was safe to open.

I have downloaded several files to day and DO NOT get the ZA download box. I get the box associated with windows and IE 8, telling me the file is safe but I always perferred the ZA box and information.

Is this something new with the new version? How do I know for sure that my downloaded file is being scanned by ZA

No just the same as before. Probably a bad install. Try first to remove ZA from windows 7 unistall a program. Then run the ZA removal tool which latest version you find here:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

    Then try a reinstall.

If you still have problems then better to report directly to the official ZA technical support at the link in in my signature (all users here).

    Follow Up

I did un-install, then ran the ZA Clean, just as you instructed. Re-installed and still had the exact same issue. Next I contacted technical support and their only sollution was to try un-installing again. Think I'll go back to ver 9 till all bugs are worked out.

The problem will never get address and never get fixed as it stands now.

ZoneAlarm does not see this as a bug at all. The feature works 100% fine on all our test systems in-house.

By just going back to version 9 and not working with support that guarantees it will never work in future version for you.

Its impossible for us to fix anything unless you work with them and eventually they will collect data to be reported to Dev if they cant get it working.
But if you wont run 10 and work with them it wont get fixed ever.

This is true with ANY issue not just this one.
