I'm having problems with my pc accepting downloads from Microsoft and Adobe. After researching Microsoft and not finding any similar problem in their community list, I figure I'd come to ZA.
Let me tell you first what I have:
Zone Alarm Extreme Security Version 9.3.037.000
True Vector Security Engine Version 9.3.037.000
Driver Version 9.1.522.000
Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware Engine Version 8.0.248, DAT File Version 1055164192
Anti-Spam Version 220.127.116.113
Zone Alarm Browser Secruity 18.104.22.168
Internet Explorer 8.060001.18702
Office XP version of Microsoft
Now to the problem. When MS attempts to download an upgrade I am getting the following messages:
The following updates were not installed:
Update for Microsoft Office 2003 (KB2539581)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB2541025)
With regard to Adobe, here is the error message I'm receiving when I attempt to install their download:
Error 1402: Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run\Optional Components\IMAIL. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personel.
In reading the ZA community posts, it appears as if ZA has released version 10. My system is set to receive automatic updates, so I'm left to wonder if my problem has anything to do with my not having ZA Version 10. (My subscription is paid and up-to-date, so that's not a problem.)
I would greatly appreciate some thoughts or suggestions on this. I ran the free analysis of PC Health Advisor and it said I had 348 problems with my registry, but I hesitated to purchase the software because 348 problems seems a bit extreme. Also I tried to download the MS updates directly from Microsoft, but they failed as well.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my problem. I very much appreciate your help.
All good wishes,
