    Post continuous 'quick scan"

    This machine is running Win7, fully updated.
    The list below is copied from help/about

    ZoneAlarm Extreme Security version: 10.0.246.000
    vsmon version: 10.0.246.000
    Driver version: 10.0.217.000
    Anti-virus engine version: 8.1.8.79
    Anti-virus signature DAT file version: 1056395264
    ZoneAlarm Browser Security: 1.5.311.0

    Since installing this newest version of ZAES, a quick scan icon shows always. The length of the scan is the amount of time the computer has been on. The scan starts soon after boot up and never scans any files as shown below.



    I uninstalled and reinstalled the program thinking something has not completely finished. No change but the 'quick scan' did not start till the day following the last successful installation. I do not know if updates of the virus data is happening. I can stop the scan only by opening the main window and shutting virus scan off, but it starts again with the next boot up.

    Any clues to help me get the scan finished resume normal operation?

    Known issue.

    No workarounds or fixes yet.

    Next version the issue will be fixed.

    We hope to have the new version between now and next Monday.

    Oh thanks so much for the quick reply. I certainly can wait that long

    I am most concerned about updating the definitions.

    I second the motion to use IE when downloading these programs. I forgot that and came a cropper several times till I remembered. I do not ever use IE so it sits way back in the closet-forgotten.

    Same thing happening in .250 with the scans. I have it set to QUICK and it is scanning the entire volumes/drives selected.

    Hope new version is coming sooner rather than later. I see this issue has been occurring since JULY...

    Hi;

    1.) It would have been Helpful, if you had taken a few minutes to scan the Main List of Topics Forum Page...

    There are 6 or 7 Postings by the Forum Moderator announcing the availability of the NEW Zone Alarm 10.1.056.000

    2.) try Resetting the DEFAULT Settings
    Click on Tools/ Preferences/ click on Reset Default button..

    This has solved the Un-scheduled Scan problem for other users..

    3.) If you have a valid ZA license
    Please click on the Support link in my Signature then click on the LIVE CHAT Link at the top Left side of the SUPPORT page and troubleshoot the issue with Technical Support.

    The More information you provide Tech Support, the more likely they will be able to understand the issue and try to help resolve the issue.
