    Default conflicting anti-virus found

I recently updated ZoneAlarm to 10.0.250.000.

When ZoneAlarm starts up, it reports that a conflicting anti-virus (McAfee Virus Scan) was found. I can't find McAfee in my program list and I don't recognize anything running as being part of McAfee. I did find some entries for McAfee in the registry.

From what I can see, I have two options:
    1) remove the McAfee entries from the registry and hope that ZoneAlarm doesn't find anything else, and/or
    2) override the block and leave on-access scanning on.

    Suggestions?

To make sure you do not have any remnants of another Anti-Virus installed, you can Run this Free Security App Renover..

The free AppRemover utility enables the thorough uninstallation of security applications like antivirus and antispyware from your computer. Remove computer stress. Simply, cleanly and effectively

    http://appremover.com/

Now Uninstall Zone Alarm using Windows Uninstall or on Windows 7 , Control Panel/Uninstal a program option.

Or (you can Download the ZA Removal Tool: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

5.) Now Install the new ZA 10.0.250 update (clean Install) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

*** NOTICE: Please note that ZAAV, ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

To troubleshoot ZAAV, ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and (if you can't live without the other Security programs - Not Recomended) - Only re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

*** For example, the Following programs may not work well with ZoneAlarm, Kaspersky (KAV) or (KISS),Norton/Symantec, McAfee, Spysweeper, NOD32, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-Virus program, some Anti-Spyware programs, Registry Guard or Registry locking tools, etc...
