    Default Exploit.Java.CVE ...

    ZoneAlarm scan picked up Exploit.Java.CVE ...

    but why did ZoneAlarm let the virus in initially, undetected and what could it have done while there?

    Many explanations possible, may be its a a dead left over that ZA picked up when you scanned the PC or it is a new detection added after a virus signature update or its a false positive.
