Unhappy Have a malware called Win 7 Security 2012

Housesitter picked this up from a photo in Twitter. ZoneAlarm didn't detect it. Need to know how to get rid of it. It has complete control of Internet Explorer - trying to get me to pay money to turn it on. Anyone know anything about it? Sending this from a different PC.

If you haven't fixed this already may I suggest that you do a full scan with Malwarebytes on the infected PC then let that program remove the offending malware? I picked up the exact same trojan yesterday on my PC & ZASS asked me of a program could run through UAC & I denied it twice. After that another page I was downloading from came up with a system error message with an offer to scan my computer. Instead of clicking yes I shut down IE then ran Malwarebytes (it's free) which found the infection & deleted all of it. After that I deleted a new Privacy Icon on my desktop then rebooted then let ZASS run a full scan. It found no infection & I haven't seen any futher error messages.

Malwarebytes is very good for getting rid of malware....

This is exactly one of the steps in the links above. Step A.
May be next time you could review the malware guideline before posting.

Closing this thread since its rather outdated.
