Default Adding ZA AV/AS to ZA Pro

    ZoneAlarm Pro version: 10.0.250.000
    vsmon version: 10.0.250.000
    Driver version: 10.0.250.000
    ZoneAlarm Browser Security: 1.5.322.0
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Scanner: 1.5.322.0
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Anti-Phishing Database: 1.2.104.0
ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Sites Database: 04.155

    Is currently running.

Besides virus protection what is added for spyware protection?

I use a non-browser Eudora paid 6.1 e-mail client. One account uses the gmail POP 3 access with its secure protocol. The other is standard POP3 protocol. In the current ZA AS/AV I don't see of mention of anything other than Outlook series which I do not use nor want. I do not want browser based e-mail clients either.

    1. Will ZA AS/AV connect to the secure POP3 protocol and SMPT protocols of gmail?
    2. Can I get Eudora to work with gmail (It works correctly now using the certificates but direct)
    3. Can ZA AS/AV use multiple e-mail accounts?

    Thanks for any information.

    Hi;

1.) All versions of ZoneAlarm contain a Firewall..
So you can not combine the features of two different versions, You must remove one befor you install another version of ZoneAlarm..

Just One, Not Two -- Never use two software Firewalls at the same time. Completely uninstall one before installing another.

2.) Here are the Feature-specific requirements of ZoneAlarm 10.0.250.000

    Browser security requirements
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9
    • Mozilla Firefox 3.0, 3.5, 3.6, 4, 5
Spam filtering and MailSafe requirements (not available in all ZoneAlarm products)

    Mailsafe supports SMTP outbound only

    Outlook Express
    • POP3: Supported
    • IMAP: Supported if Outlook Express is set to download the entire message (not just message header)

    WinMail
    • POP3: Supported
    Note: WinMail IMAP not supported

    Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010
    • Exchange: Supported
    • POP3: Supported
    • IMAP: Supported if Outlook is set to download the entire message (not just message header)

    ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Scanner: 1.5.322.0

Is this a duplicated function in ZA AS/AV?

ZA Pro says I have spyware protection but is that just the incoming stream or will it scan the hard disk just like previous versions. I don't see a function for that.

Am I reading correctly I need a different utility? I miss the previous functionality of ZA Pro in the previous version.

ZAPRO provide very limited coverage for spyware or malware and cannot be a subsitute for malware/spyware scanner. I would recommend you install a proper antivirus or move up to ZA AV or ZA Suite or ZA extreme.

All ZA products comes with a 30 day trial. Test it before to ensure it works fine on your system.

ZA AV, Suite, Extreme do not have specific e-mail modules to filter malware. All e-mails are anyway check always "on-access". You are perfectly safe. ZA antispam only support Outlook.

    Thanks,
