    Default Zone Alarm Free Window Will Not Move

    I have used Zone Alarm for years and always loved it! Now, for some reason, I am unable to access the Zone Alarm window on my XP computer. It opens, but then freezes and I am unable to close it, although moving the cusor over selections highlights them. I have tried everything, uninstalling completely and then re-installing from scratch. It's a mystery why this should suddenly happen and I would welcome some suggestions that could lead me towards a solution. I hate to give Zone Alarm up for good because there are no solutions to why it freezes whenever I open the Zone Alarm window to change some settings!
    Thanks for your ideas - - -

    Hi;

    Something may have Corrupted your ZA Settings

    try to fully reset your ZA settings and start clean to exclude ZA related problems:
    1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
    2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
    3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
    4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
    5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
    6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

    You may want to follow the malware clean up guide here:
    Malware Clean-up Guidance <== Click here

    And then trying to boot selectively to find which program is conflicting:

    1.) Click Start -> Run
    2.) Type MSConfig in the run box and click OK
    3.) Once in MSConfig, click the Startup Tab
    4.) Remove the checks from everything except ZLClient
    5.) Click the Services Tab
    6.) Place a check in "Hide All Microsoft Services"
    7.) Now remove checks from everything other than TrueVector Internet
    Monitor and ForceField (if present), and click OK.
    8.) Restart your computer

    Check back items from services to startup items by group of 4 or 5 up to when you find the culprit.

    NOTE: You can place your computer back into a normal startup process by going back into msconfig and choosing the Normal Startup option on the General tab.

    Check your system logs
    Go to start -> Run --> type eventvwr -> double click on "system" and review the log.
    Any services taking a long time or fail to start? (see timing between one and another service)
