Thumbs down ZAAV Installing Toolbar when told NOT to

    Hi All,

I am a registered user of ZA Anti-Virus. I was using v 9.x.xx.xxx and updated to the most recent version 10.0.250.000:

    ZoneAlarm with Anti-virus version: 10.0.250.000
    vsmon version: 10.0.250.000
    Driver version: 10.0.250.000
    Anti-virus engine version: 8.1.8.79
Anti-virus signature DAT file version: 1059883808
    ZoneAlarm Browser Security: 1.5.322.0
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Scanner: 1.5.53.235
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Anti-Phishing Database: 1.2.104.0
ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Sites Database: 04.155

I am using Windows XP SP-3.

Upon upgrading to v 10 I set the BOX to "NOT" install the toolbar. During installation at about 64% complete the status shows its now installing the toolbar! After install, sure enough its in my MSIE v8 and yes I can disable it in MSIE but Forcefield.exe and ISWSVC.exe still always runs in taskmanager.
Further information, YES, I used the ZA CLEAN.EXE file and totally removed all traces of ZA 9 on my machine(even removing some things it didn't remove.
In my ADD or REMOVE PROGRAMS, ZA ANTIVIRUS is the only ZA item. There is not a second item to just uninstall the toolbar.

I tried this entire routine 4 times and each time, despite I set it to NOT install, it always installs it.

Any idea's on how to remove this beast? I just don't need that portion of ZA.

    Thanks..........

    skooter

I fixed it myself by reverting back to ZAAV v9.3.037.000.
