    Default [SOLVED] ZASPSetup_100_250 installation

    At last (as usual some months late just to avoid problems) I tried to install last available issue and, after a very complete cleaning from 9.3.037 (about ten years with ZA is a proper experience...), the new software...tells me immediately (first window).."No valid installation configuration found"...
    Never seen before and never happened with previous issues.
    Windows XP Home XP3, 2GB RAM, Toshiba M70
    Any suggestion, please ?

    Probably some left overs from the previous version. Try to run the ZA removal tool clean.exe (search the forum for the link). Run the tool, reboot and see now if you get the same message.

    dear fax, being a ZA customer since ten yers ago, I have and use all uninstall tools and, in addition, I clean manually everything inside the register as per old procedures because uninstall tools DO NOT clean everything !
    Now I do a complete scandisk and then I try to install online as reccomended (personally I have never installed being online unprotected !)

    Online installation started correctly and run smoothly up to about 55% i.e.
    OK Configured ZA Firewall
    OK ,, ZA Security
    OK ,, ZA AntiVirus
    OK ,, ZA Antispam

    and then stops
    ! Failed to start boot sector and memory scan


    Any advice i.e. is it a known problem ? Please note my system language is italian: do You think better to revert to English (US) in the control panel ?

    You may want to wait some more few weeks and try the latest version to be released.

    It may solve your problems although that error is unusual (cannot recall any user reporting it) and may be linked to specific restrictions at OS level or third party software not compatible with the current version.

    Since you are long time user of ZA you may already guess what are the troubleshooting steps for the above problems.

    You could nevertheless also report the issue to the official support to see if they are aware of this problem.

    I agree. What is strange is that after installation I rebooted in order to uninstall and, on the contrary, the software finished its installation properly and now is running and under test: as first impression the PC looks a little bit slower compared with 9.037 but at the moment runs correctly.
    The only strange thing is that I found an old vsconfig.tmp (in settings\allUsers\application data\CheckPoint) that I am unable to delete..
    So I run this one and awaiting for the next issue.

    Actually ZA 10 should be generally much lighter than 9. It has per design less memory use and fully re-designed AV engine. So, it may indicate that it is not running properly.

    Anyway, you should not wait long for the next bug fix release. Closing this thread since the issue is resolved. Please do not hesitate to open a new thread for any other ZA related issues or PM me in case you need to re-open this one.
