Default Issue with Avast and ZA: sf.bin file

I have Avast anti virus. The problem is that I get a pop up saying that sf.bin is trying to access the internet. The IP address's vary from
    224.0.0.252
    224.0.0.253
    239.255.255.250

Every time I tick the box and click allow always. It happens again the next day. Avast claim it is not their fault and say it is Zone Alarm that is the problem.
On checking Zone Alarm programs accept/deny list I see this.

    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092801\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092800\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092601\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092401\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092400\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092300\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092200\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11092100\Sf.bin
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11091901\Sf.bin

Each time Avast seems to delete a folder randomly created as a 8 digit number and create a new folder. I assume that Zone Alarm thinks this is a new software. I have had this SCREAMING email argument with them for over a month. They will keep saying it is not our fault go and talk to ZA.

They say that I should get ZA to restrict all
    C:\program files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\*

    folders to stop the problem.

Default Re: Avast say ZA is at fault not them.

First time I hear about this problem and there are hundreds of Avast/ZA users.

Which is the exact version of ZA is used (right click the ZA icon near the clock --> about --> copy to clipboard --> paste it here)? And which is the exact version of AVAST used? Do you have ad-hoc settings in ZA (out of default) and if yes, which ones?

Do you see multiple Sf.bin entries in ZA program control? Which settings are applied? List them. If not, have you tried to go to option and UNcheck "Authenticate components" and/or UNcheck "Authenticate by path...." (if they exist in ZA free).

sf.bin per design cannot connect (its a bin not an executable). Are you blocking anything in ZA? IPs? Probably your ZA settings may be also corrupted. Reset them.

You need to provide all the info requested otherwise no user here will be able to give you targeted help especially related to ZA.

Please remember ZA free offer no official support only user help. On this bases its your interest to provide as much as information as possible. I will merge your post in one to avoid this thread to become too long, this is also to the benefit of the readers.

Ok, thanks. I have merged all the info in the first post... Now its time you post the information requested on ZA.
May I ask you to do so in one shot. No multiple posts, I have already explained why. Read my above post.

No rash, take your time, read carefully what is needed and post also what you feel may be important to know.

    Thanks,
