    Question Install docs/release notes/license key issue: ZES10

    Very sorry, guys. I might have plain missed any install docs for ZES10, but all Ive found so far is this link: https://support.zonealarm.com/index....ealarm-product

    From what Ive read on this forum, there's some things I think Ill need some additional information on when it comes to installing this specific version. (Specifically the internet thing.)

    Anyway, normally I can find those pages right away, apologies. Basically any sort of release notes for installing ZA10 is what Im after.

    Below are some things Im dealing with, regarding this upgrade. Wonder if any folks out there could make any observations or give any advice about stuff I may need to consider.

    ZA V. 9.1.008 (Extreme Security)
    WinXP SP3

    - I am currently encountering the "renew" email error, where my ZA is set to expire, despite the fact that I got the renewal email

    - My version is no longer supported, so I have downloaded the newest install (100_250) so I can upgrade and then deal with any license issues, (if there still are any) using the current version. This way, if I do need to chat with support, Ill be up to date.

    - I am (still) on dial up, and I am not connected to the internet when I boot up.

    Other things to consider:

    - I am not upgrading to a faster internet connection for a while. (January) But I need to upgrade asap, so I can continue to have a working product.

    Hi;

    AFAIK, the user manual available for ZA ver 8 was the last available version,
    Zone Alarm now uses the "HELP" file for ZA 9 and ZA 10..
    for Released notes click on the "What's new" Sticky below..

    here are a few Sticky post that you should click on that may be helpful to you..

    Sticky: "Is there an end-of-support date for ZASS 9.3.037"

    Sticky: "What's New with ZA 10.0.250"

    Sticky: "License Key issues"

    Sticky: "Recomended steps to Protect your Computer."

    The instruction for a clean install are below,

    1. Download the latest ZA version <== click here

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry with Free Ccleaner.com
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, now reboot after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings and try again.

    Thanks, George.

    In your opinion...

    would you think it better I address the license key issue first (if support will help), or the upgrade first?

    That bit where it says:
    "If your license key is expired, it will NOT work with newer versions."

    Makes me wonder if I should try to get that license thing squared away before an upgrade.

    Yes, address the license key issue first.

    1.) if your License key has Expired, then the new ZA Version will not install with an Expired Key..
    You may Contact Checkpoint Customer Support Live Text Chat,

    Please click on the Support link in my Signature then click on the LIVE CHAT Link at the top Left side of the SUPPORT page and Select Non-Technical Help for Customer support and request Help with your Key.



    2.) Here is a Quote from the Forum Moderator reference to Support for Older Version of Zone Alarm..

    Also you will get no support whatsoever from ZoneAlarm at all if you have a simple question or a problem with older versions..

    Support will tell you to upgrade to the latest version before they even begin to help you. Download the latest ZA version <== click here
