Default A security scan is in progress

I have two computers, one desktop and one notebook, both with Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite and with the same Zone alarm configuration. During start up the desktop is not doing any visable scan while the notebook is doing a 'Security scan' i.e. going through all of the about 300 000 files with a scan duration of about 2.5 hours.
    Why? Any hints?

It is the same configuration and software in both.
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Internet Explorer 9.0.8112......
    Differences:
    Desktop: Intel i7-860 @ 2.8 GHz
    Notebook: Intel i5-2410M @ 2,3 GHz

    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version: 10.0.250.000
    vsmon version: 10.0.250.000
    Driver version: 10.0.217.000
    Anti-virus engine version: 8.1.8.79
Anti-virus signature DAT file version: 1062774624
    ZoneAlarm Browser Security: 1.5.322.0
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Scanner: 1.5.53.235
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Anti-Phishing Database: 1.2.104.0

    Hi!
was ZA installed at the same time on both machines? Or you had some days between one installation and the other?

Are you getting the scan at each boot/reboot?

    Thanks,

    Hi!

The upgrade to version 10 has been done on the desktop.
The notebóok is new so only ver. 10 has been installed.
On the Notebook ZA was uninstalled with Clean.exe and reinstalled.

Yes, every time the notebook is restarted the secure scan is also started.

    Hi!

Thanks, I have seen more than one user reporting that ZA keep scanning at each reboot on win7. Its best you report this issue directly to ZA technical support (we are all users here). Its important they are aware of the issue you are having.

They will suggest you some troubleshooting steps. Please follow them and keep reporting to them. More users reports this problem more likely support will escalate the issue to the development team.

The link to ZA technical support is in in my signature, look for the live chat icon. The service its free for registered users.

    Thanks,

    Hi!

Thanks. I cleaned registry with CCleaner and I have now restarted my nootbook 5 times
without the secure scan from ZA. I hope that fixed the problem.

Scan may start within 5 to 30 minutes after boot...
To double check go to ZA computer, Antivirus/Antispyware section, push on settings, under "history" look for "next scan" if it is with the date of today then bad news, most likely today or tomorrow it will start it again. If instead there is a date a week from now then you are fine.
