Default Antivirus/spyware update error=> possible router issue

I'm behind a BT Home Hub3 router, and for the most part ZoneAlarm has been updating ok. But I've only just noticed this past hour it's started giving an error message that both product update and antivirus/spyware are overdue; when it tries to update both, it gives an error. I have 139 days left of my subscription.

    ~~snip~~

    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version: 10.0.250.000
    vsmon version: 10.0.250.000
    Driver version: 10.0.217.000
    Anti-virus engine version: 8.1.8.79
Anti-virus signature DAT file version: 1064186976

    Hi!

if it is only since few hours I would wait and see if this keep to be a problem in the following days.

You may want also to consider to update ZA to a more recent version. Since you are experiencing problem its better to start clean. i.e. remove your current version before installing the new and start fresh. You can find the download link to the latest version here: Looking for the latest version?

Also note that we are all users here, if you have a valid license you can contact, free of charge, the ZA technical support at the link in my signature (look for the live chat link).

Finally some off topic remarks needed to go, they can't be addressed here. Anti-spam measures cannot be avoided. Otherwise we would end-up spending all our time to clean the forum instead of answering to legit users calls.

Thank you in advance for your support and understanding.

    Thanks,

If this is a problem with my current version, why has it started now? It started barely 3 hours ago and despite me restarting/resetting my hub it's still unable to update. In the old days you would just delete the old sig files or whatever.

According to this page http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...seHistory.html the latest version is 10.1.056.000 so I'll download it and see what happens.

Sorry, may be I was not clear. I did not say that the problem is your version. I'll try again : if you keep getting that error in the following days you may want to consider to take the opportunity to update to the latest version.

If you will have still problems then better to move to official support to get the issue logged and troubleshooted.

    Clearer now?

Sorry I'm all sixes-and-sevens at the moment, too much on my mind! Yes thanks, it's clearer. I found that momentarily while using version 10.1.056.000 I had the exact same issue. ZA's update would just keep giving errors. However, this time I'm 99% convinced it was a problem with my router, because internet connection in general was affected too.

It's quite possible this was a router issue from the start, but I'll still download/install the latest ZA version.

    Cheers,
    Tim
