Default ZA Free upgrade Problem on dual boot PC

After a few years of problem free upgrades of ZA I upgraded to 10.1.65.0. Running xp, ie8 and Avast AV.
Disaster, ZA will not load to taskbar and in folder Checkpoint/ZoneAlarm only 3 files are visable, diagnostic tool, readme and security. Vsmon.exe is running along with ISWSVC but no user programme visable. Tried to manually delete files as per support page and reinstall, but no luck, some files must still be there as ZA install said it was an upgrade ! Downloaded clean.exe, but this failed as my xp drive with ZA is D:/ and clean.exe defaults to searching C:/
Anyone have any ideas to resolve

No, sorry. Manually remove files with the instruction for version 9 (there is no manual removal instructions for version 10) has problaby corrupted ZA 10, the install and uninstall chances probably gone. You should try to use XP restore point to a date previous the installation of ZA 10. Try to do it in SAFE MODE.

Sorry I have not further suggestion to offer you.

    Thanks,
    Fax
P.S. If you are able to recover the system do not modify the default install of ZA over C:/

    Hi;

a.) is this aDeskTop, Laptop computer or Netbook.

b.) make sure that your "Windows XP" is fully updated with Microsoft Service Pack 3 and all recent Microsoft updates..

c.) Zone Alarm and all of it's files MUST BE INSTALLED on Drive C:

Follow these instructions Below to clean your computer of the old version and any conflicting 3rd party Security programs, then install a clean new copy of the current supported version of ZA Free 10.1.065.000

The instruction for a clean install are below,

    1. Download the latest ZA version <== click here

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry withthe Free Ccleaner.exe
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, now reboot after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings or Default location on Drive C:

Thanks for input guys, ZA is installed on D:/ as that is the drive I have XP SP3 on my desktop. C:/ is used by other system.
I have have managed to uninstall forcefield and the ZA icon has appeared in taskbar but I feel it's corrupted.
ZA has been happily running on my D:/ drive for years and no probs !
I have duel boot system and don't know if I can swap drive letters and alter bat/config file to make my current D:/ to C:/ ? as this I feel is the only way clean.exe will run ?
Xp is current, ccleaner is installed.
XP add/remove program will not remove as files missing !

    You're welcome!
A side note, ZA never supported dual boot PCs (even version 9). If it has worked up to now you have been lucky. Please consider it in future installations of ZA.

Sorry, don't know about the swapping. Probably is not possible.
