    Default google chrome blocked > may be caused by Malware or Corrupt Windows OS

    I can no longer use chrome, when I try it says "Unable to access network". It is not blocked in Applications, I have uninstalled and reinstalled both chrome and ZA but problem persists. If I exit ZA, Chrome does work. And I have ZA Ver. 10.1.65.000. I would sure apreciate some help. Thank you.

    Never heard that ZA could block chrome, in effect ZA does not support chrome. Probably a bad setting or corrupted databases. Exact version of ZA used??? OS version? You don't post any detail of your PC especially any other software running at boot. It can be a conflict with other third party utilities.

    Was it working before?? If yes, what you have changed?

    You seem to have ratehr weird problems with ZA (e.g. antivirus scan errors). It may be good to refresh your PC and OS before reinstalling ZA.

    Sorry about that. (lack of info). I have included a list of info, to include a list of Start Up programs listed in msinfo.

    1st-- Chrome was working fine, then, a couple days ago while working in another program, ( I think it was word, but not sure) a ZA alert popped up that chrome was trying to access the internet, since I didn’t start chrome I just instinctively clicked on ‘Deny’. Later when I tried to open chrome is when I first received the notice ‘Unable to access the network’. The entire notice or message reads –
    ========================
    ‘Unable to access the network
    Google Chrome is having trouble accessing the network.
    This may be because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly thinks Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and is blocking it from connecting to the Internet.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
    Error 138 (net::ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED): Unable to access the network.’
    =========================
    Something funny ( if that’s what you want to call it) is that while Chrome is my default browser, I can click on ZA Help tab/ Technical Support and Chrome will open to ZA. But no other link, that Ive tried, and Ive tried a few, will open Chrome, instead of opening, I get the above notice.
    I have tried Uninstalling and re installing Chrome, no change.
    I have uninstalled ZA and reinstalled the newest version - 10.1.065.000. I had ver. 10.0.something (sorry I cant remember the whole thing.)

    One quick question, and Im not trying to sound stupid, but what do you mean by refreshing my PC and OS before reinstalling ZA?

    If it was a ZA issue Installing/reinstalling it should have resolved it. Instead you seem to experience the same problem. Very strange.
    Unless for some unknown reasons the removal did not complete successfully and old settings were kept.

    I would first try this:

    1. Close google chrome
    2. Open ZA
    3. Go to ZA computer section and click on XXX program secured
    4. Scroll the list and click with the mouse on google chrome
    5. Now click on remove
    6. if there are more references in the list to google chrome please remove them also
    7. Click OK
    8. Close ZA
    9. Open ZA
    10. Go to ZA computer section and click on XXX program secured
    11. Scroll the list and double check google chrome is NOT there. If it is not then
    12. Try to open google chrome and see if ZA will prompt for action or add google chrome in the list of applications as allowed.

    Because you seem to experience several weird problems with ZA (e.g.scan errors) that may not be related to ZA but to OS or other third party software.

    It can mean from cleaning of unnecessary file and third party programs to reinstall of the OS and start with a fresh baseline. This is particularly the case for PC that have been experiencing malware infections or that are often subject to hangs/crash/reset and mulfunctions.
