Default Got rid of Win 7 Security Malware Still have Problems

I got rid of all traces of the Win 7 Security Malware app on a friends computer, but now when zonealarm is running no browser will connect to the internet...I shut it off and the browsers work. Any suggestions on how to fix this. I am certain it must either be the system files or a registry key...that is acting up.

Its very possible the malware has modified the OS in a manner that causes ZA to not have internet access.

I would suggest trying malwarebytes free version to make sure all of the malware was removed.

Often missed by the scanners are the changes made to the file association - either in the user or the root accounts within the windows registry.
Usually the .exe is changed to open the malware file instead of the correct exefile.
Doing a find in the registry for the exact main malware executible will lead you often to the correct locations. However I have seen instances where the .exe leads off to some strange file extension and the new file then leads to the malware file.
    Best regards.

You'll find more info on Uninstall Guide to include associated files and Windows registry information here :

    Sky Soldiers:nice one!
Often the malwriters make changes every so often to their scareware, so I hope this solution fits perfectly.
