I am very sorry to hear you are not able to extract the information you need.

To make it more easier, please compared the two tables regarding the elements been logged in Viewing logged Firewall events and in Viewing logged OSFirewall events and you will be able to understand the difference between the two logging. They look very different in terms of what they look at. Isn't it? This is in other words: the difference.

    Clearer now?

    Cheers,

    Fax,
I can see that they are logging different things but I wouldn't be able to deduce from that exactly what they represent.
    Your simple explanation
    Firewall log: logs inbound
OSfirewall: logs suspicious behaviour by applications
explains it perfectly and it would be helpful if the ZA Help could put it as succinctly as you did.
I think we can leave it now that you have given me what I required so thank you for your persistence in trying to explain, it is much appreciated.

I am very sorry you find difficult to see the difference between the two. My summary is not fully correct, was just a simplification. The short answer on the difference was already been given to you by another user here:

Advanced-access Protection targets and defeats new, advanced attacks that other firewalls miss, such as raw data access, timing, and SCM and COM attacks.
Whenever you have time you should review the online ZA user guide. You will find all the relevant information ordered by chapter (not by questions, that is, I am afraid, not possible to do - there are million of different questions that could be created out of the features of ZA). You just need to read the appropiate chapters. Use can use the search function and look for "OSfirewall" and you will read what is it and so on.

A search on this board will also result in several threads in which this was already discussed.

If you prefer to read in a PDF format you can use an old user manual:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/me...ser_manual.pdf

Unless you have other specific question I will close this thread since the issue is resolved. Please PM in case you need to open the thread again.

    Thanks,
    Fax
