Default PC TUNE-UP -- is it worth it?

My 4 1/2-year-old Vista computer is really acting slugging lately, even giving me seemingly random "Not Responding" errors way more than I like. I run DEFRAG often, have done a Windows Disk Cleanup, and a couple of other things that haven't helped. I'm wondering if some registry-cleaning software like PC TUNEUP might help here. I guess I've heard some good things about such tools, and some bad things. I know if I upgrade from ZASS to ZA Extreme Security for $10 I would get this utility included.

Can anyone offer any advice about this? Have people found that running PC TUNE-UP really helps? Is it worth it?

Well, personally I would not upgrade just for tuneup. But I never trusted these tools, they can mess up more than they fix. I would try with the free ccleaner otherwise a good reformat and reinstall from scratch is the best solution.

Thanks. Several people have recommended CCLEANER, but I've been wondering: if these types of tools sometimes do more harm than good, why would CCLEANER be any different? Thanks.

When using any tools of this type, I would recommend making a full system backup and creating a new system-restore point before using it.If the software of this kind has built-in backup to merge registry changes.Run it in the event you run into trouble.

    Have a nice Day

Free Ccleaner has millions of users on the back. No insurance but helps. Make use of its registry back features to be on the safe side.
