    Default ZA Free Firewall Advanced Settings

    There are many settings within my ZA Free Firewall that are unchecked. Although I already have a feeling that for max security I should keep the option I listed as 4 unchecked, I am still unsure about the others.

    1: Block all fragments
    2: Block trusted servers
    3: Enable ARP protection
    4: Allow uncommon protocols at high security
    5: Lock Hosts File

    Should any of these be checked on (selected)? or Should I just leave them all as they are (unchecked/off/default)?

    You have to decide based on your needs. ZAfree offers limited firewall capability as compared to other ZA retail products. Below you find an extract of the online manual you can access via the ZA interface (help --> help). It should help understanding better what those settings means. Some of them are only useful if you use VPN others may conflict with application installed.

    If you do not understand them while reading then better to leave them alone

    Yeah I'll just leave them alone although now I have an even bigger problem. My ZA Free Firewall won't let me clear the event logs for it. I click clear over & over but it refuses to do it. When I try to delete the log as well it says "error file does not exist or is in use". So now I have no idea to what extent my ZA is bugged. I'm going to re-install it now since I have no idea if this bug could be effecting my security.

    You're ZA databases may be corrupted. Try a reset (tools --> preferences --> Reset do default).
