    Unhappy Upgrade troubles


    Although a satisfied user since 2006, I ran into trouble with ZAES 2012.

    I upgraded from an earlier version (2011). Initially the upgrade went OK.
    However, PC then slowed down to a crawl, and ZAES 2012 operated erratically.

    Following other forum posts I did a full uninstall:
    1. Uninstall using win programs & features
    2. Ran both CCleaner, PC tune-up and regseek to clean the registry
    3. Manually removed files and folders (showing all files and folders in explorer)
    4. Manually searched & cleaned registry.

    I thought that was pretty thorough. Then I did a reinstall using the stand-alone installer (10.1.079). Strange thing... upon starting the installer it says 'a previous version was found, click to upgrade'. Odd, since I thought my clean was thorough... So I proceeded anyway. That went OK it seems. At least my PC is back to normal speed.

    But.... ZAES2012 now gives me a warning, saying my computer is at risk. Clicking the fix-it button does not give any change or response.

    So I go to the 'Computer' tab. The message in red there is 'automatic reply is not set properly'.

    So I go to settings, and to try change it manually. It says in red: 'update check is not scheduled'. So I click that, brings me to the 'Scheduled tasks' screen. Here, no scans are scheduled, and product update is disabled.

    Now.... whatever I choose, and click OK, nothing changes!!! I cannot set a schedule, I cannot get rid of the warning.

    I'm sot even sure to what extend my PC is presently protected.

    Plz help!

    I am sure they will be able to help. Please look for the live chat link in the main support page.

    Let us know how you have managed to resolve the issue. It will help other users with the same problem.
