    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

Default Re: Extreme Security 10.1.079.000 Virus Scan Hangs on C:\Windows\System32\OSK.EX

You will probably need to exclude it from the "on-demand" scan (instead of on-access or process). You can do that under the antivirus advance settings --> "scan targets" --> browser to the file and UNcheck it.

However, you should try to assess the cause of the problem. First step to perform would be to scan the system but by booting the PC in SAFE MODE with NETWORKING.

If ZA will scan the PC and the file without problem then it means that another process is locking the file and not allowing the scan with ZA. Other possibility is that the file is corrupted or the drive damaged or the OS not functioning well. Finally a pontetial cause can be a malware infection.

By the way, you already posted this message. Please do not double post. I will move it in the same thread to avoid duplication. It is also useful if you report on what have been suggested here already. If you have already tried what have been suggested to other user here then I am afraid we cannot suggested more solutions to you especially considering that so far no user followed up on your question.

    Thanks,
    Fax
