Post AV Deep Scan on Reboot -- AGAIN

ZoneAlarm Security Suite version: 10.1.079.000, automatic updates AND manually updated, is back to old tricks - running a deep scan every re-boot.

Is there a solid fix for this??? This is getting to be like a bad dream.

    =====

As the title suggests, this issue keeps recurring. Per the logs, the AV system updated every day, but then the scans occurred the next day. At times, it seems an AV system update re-starts the log; but, older logs are showing this same daily scan behavior.

    Hi!

the best is to report this directly to ZA technical support. They may need to collect logs or may be this is a known issue and will inform you.

I personally haven't had this issue anymore after the last fix. May be under certain conditions it comes back. I have seen this in users restoring old settings from a previous installation. Sorry no more ideas.

    EDIT:

Please do not double post your messages (messages merged). As already indicated you need to report the issue to official support and report back to them if what they suggested did not fix the issue (we are all users here).

Please report back if you manage to resolve the issue. It could help other user experiencing the same problem, if any.

    Thanks,

Possibly you have to download and install the very last version from the link below. There have been 2 or 3 "slight" updates since the first v10.1.079.000 was released. Last update is from March 7th 2012.

I recall to have had a problem similar to this (I believe it was a "Normal Scan on reboot") that was fixed installing a newer v10.1.079.000. Currently I've got the very last version that doesn't have the problem either.

Exclamation Re: AV Deep Scan on Reboot -- AGAIN

    My feedback:
Ran into the same problem with the v10.1.079.000 version. It started a deep scan every time a machine was (re)booted. It was on all machines it was installed on.

Contacted ZA Technical support. First advice was to do a clean install (inclusing clean.exe and a delete of %TEMP% contents). Although that was done already before we contacted ZA Tech Support, we repeated the process with the files given by ZA Tech.
We were assured that the problem was not prompted by specific security settings (as stored in .xml under Tools> Preferences> Backup).

    [QUOTE TRANSCRIPT]
Operator: you can back up your setting by goint into the tools tab at the upper right> preference>back up
    under settings.
Us: And this will not invoke the previous behaviour/ malfunction?
    Operator: It should not.

    [END QUOTE]

    The problem persisted.
Upon a second contact with ZA Tech we were advised to download the install files only with Internet Explorer...
    [QUOTE TRANSCRIPT]
Operator: Did you download using Internet Explorer?
Us: No Firefox, I got the link from your colleague and the install program is fine...
Operator: The download would have needed to have been completed using Internet Explorer. Other browsers are likely to corrupt the file
    s.
    [...]
Operator: I do apologize, but the next thing that we would need to have you do is install using Internet Explorer. This normally resolves the issue.
    [END QUOTE]

So for the 65% of the world that uses another browser...

We are now running a newer version...
    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version: 10.2.064.000
    ZoneAlarm license key: XXX
    Vsmon version: 10.2.064.000
    Driver version: 10.2.064.000
    Antivirus engine version: 8.2.11.97
Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1083921184
    AntiSpam version: 6.3.1.4971
    ZoneAlarm Browser Security: 1.5.388.0
    ZoneAlarm ForceField Spyware Scanner: 1.2.104.0

...and that seems to be running fine without the scan on (re)boot.

Funnily enough I did see that Deep Scan does not exist any more in this version, just Quick and Normal with a tick box for Archive inclusion.
