Default zpeng25.dll was not found> Bad install

    Hi,

Whenever I start Windows (XP) I get a window pops up headed "Cptray.exe – Unable To Locate Component"

    In the text it continues....

“This application has failed to start because zpeng25.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem”

I originally got this after an undate, I re-installed, no change, there's now been another update, installed, no change.

How can I stop this happening?

    Many thanks!

    Evan

    Hi!

right click the ZA icon near the clock --> about --> copy to clipboard --> paste it here in a reply.
Please also clearly list other security tools you have installed (antivirus, antispyware, etc).

    Thanks,

    Hello;

A.) It sounds like possibly a Corrupted or bad download..

Follow these instructions Below to clean your computer of the old version and any conflicting 3rd party Security programs, then install a clean new copy of the current supported version of ZA 10.

The instruction for a clean install are below,

    1. Download the latest http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en...e-download.htm<== click here

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry withthe Free Ccleaner.exe
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, now reboot after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings,
and Do Not Restore Save Settings from the old install.

Please follow George suggestions. You can skip point 3 if you are installing ZAfree firewall without antivirus.
