    Default ZA auto-scanning issues

    I've been having some issues with my ZA lately and frankly I'm at a loss for the cause. Lately, my ZA seems to start a scan at random and never finish. As we speak, my ZA is still scanning the "critical area" and has been for more than 28 hours straight. It has not completed the scan, nor has it actually scanned any files as stated by the scanning window. Several times this scan appears and never finishes, and seems to start scanning when I start my PC.

    Updating ZA seems to have no effect. My concern is that if the ZA virus engine is constantly "scanning" an area of my PC, that means it's not actively protecting my PC and the issue needs to be remedied.

    Anyone have some insight?

    Hi!

    right click the ZA icon near the clock --> About --> Copy to clipboard --> Paste it here.

    Are you running other security related tools?

    I have no other security tools active on this PC.

    Hi!

    I would first remove your current ZA from Windows control panel, reboot and install the latest version 10.2.074.000. Do not restore any previous settings, just to ensure you test it when freshly installed.

    You will find the link to the latest versions at the main ZA support site: support.zonealarm.com, look for frequently asked questions.

    Let us know if this solve the issue as the version 10.2 comes with an updated antivirus engine.
