Default Using ZA Extreme while in (Win 7) safe mode

I am having a problem with ZA while using Win 7 safe mode.
After starting my computer in safe mode with networking I am unable to launch ZA. Or rather, ZA launchs (icon in syst tray) but moving my mouse over the icon all I get is ZA is initializing. I can wait for hours and it still shows initializing. Is this normal? I am running Win 7 Pro 32-bit on a laptop. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Right click the ZA icon near the clock --> about --> copy to clipboard --> paste it here (remove your license key!).

    Thanks,

Thats a rather old version of ZA (with a previous AV build). The best would be to:

    1. Remove fully ZAX from the system
    2. Turn ON windows firewall
    3. Download latest version of ZAX here: Looking for the latest version?
    4. Install ZAX... update AV, leave the rest at default.
    5. Test it now

    Thanks,
    Fax

P.S. Autoupate so far only prompts if you are running a version older than 10 (e.g. 9). So, from time to time you can check the above link for a more updated version to install.

Well now I have a different problem. I downloaded the updated version of ZA and removed my old copy but the installer is stalled at 82% and nothing is happening. I don't think it should take 45 minutes to install. Any suggestions.

It hangs while installing which component? Did have any virus problems on the system?
You may need to use the ZA removal tool to remove all left overs from the previous installation.

Sorry its taken so long to get back (life is crazy.) Anyway ZA finally installed and worked fine for a few weeks but the old prob is back (not in safe mode.) A quick scan has been running for the last FOUR hours and it will not cancel even after a reboot. ZA used to be a **** of a lot more reliable than it is now, IMHO. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could also try as last option.

How do I manually remove Zonealarm from Windows Vista X64 and Windows 7 X64
