    Exclamation [Solved] can not remove Rootkit.boot.harbinger > cured with the TDSSKiller

    Hi everyone I am new to Zone Alarm.
    A friend of mine turned me on to ZA because I have been having a **** of a time getting rid of Rootkit.boot.harbinger.a ZA identifies it and says its taken care of but its not, every time I run a scan there it is.

    What can I do?

    Thank you

    Hi George,
    Well I followed the steps in the links you gave me, and 52 items were cleaned out but the main bug is still here.

    I am going to try ZA rescue disc. I just d/l the file and unzip it and run the program? I am using win 7 64bit.

    Hello;

    Try this:

    1. Open your control panel select the Add remove programs / Program and Features

    2. If any of the following have been installed, uninstall them.
    - ZoneAlarm
    - ZoneAlarm toolbar
    - Do Not Track

    3. Download and run our clean up utility from:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe 4. Download the Recommended version of Free ZA and install:

    - Free Firewall: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...10_000_054.exe (zafwSetup) <= Free version without AV

    - Free AV +Firewall: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...10_000_054.exe (zaSetup)
