Default Setting up New Manual Internet Wireless Connection

When trying to set up, manually, a new wireless connection I get "unexpected error", and Google searches have come up with Zone Alarm as the problem. I have a post that they resolved the problem by uninstalling ZA, installing the wireless adapter, and reinstalling ZA. That approach seems over the top - can anyone advise what to do ?

right click the ZA icon near the clock --> About --> Copy to clipboard --> Paste it here. Remove the license key (if present) as this is a public user forum.

Also explain exactly what you mean by setting up a wireless manually as normally its not in ZA that you need to set-it up. In ZA, once connected, you can decide only if you allocate it to the "trusted" or "public" zones. Which post? Link? Be more specific otherwise other users here will have no clue on what are you talking about.
