Try to scan but booting the PC in SAFE MODE with NETWORKING (you need to run ZA manually as it will not boot as normally but the scan will be functional) to see you experience the same. If not, then your OS, the file or another software is locking that file causing the antivirus to fail to complete the scan.

Just suggestion if not able to resolve issue trying everything else suggested.

Last week my antivirus would go thru the motions of updating. But same Dat file for a few days.Reset to defaults didn't fix it.I was going to do clean install.Ah, will try the following.

Ran System File Checker tool here :

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

    After running :

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32> sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.

    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired

them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For

    example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Reboot my PC.Re-download dat file.No more issues.Stays current now.
