Default Task manager tried to delete zonealarm Free files

Today I got some strange messages in zonealarm log. Task manager tried to delete zonealarm files: vsmon.exe and zatray.exe.

I am using zonealarm free antivirus and firewall:

ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall version: 11.0.000.504
    Vsmon version: 11.0.000.504
    Driver version: 11.0.000.026
    Antivirus engine version: 8.3.0.18
Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1120822112
    Web Identity Protections version: 1.5.393.22

I also attached a screenshot from zonealarm log.

Probably just a bad upgrade or Conflict with other Anti-virus Software installed ?. Try a clean install as detailed below:

    1. Re-download the latest version of ZA free from here: Looking for the latest version?
Watch out to choose the right installer, i.e. ZA free WITHOUT the antivirus if you have another Antivirus installed?

    2. Remove you current ZA from your OS control panel (add/remove programs in XP, Uninstall an application in WIN7 or WIN8).

    3. Reboot the PC

    4. Turn ON Windows firewall if off (ZA will take care of turning it off once installed).

    5. Download and save to the desktop the ZA removal tool to make sure there are no left over parts:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

    6. Run the ZA removal tool

    7. Reboot the PC

    8. Now Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings,
and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.

    ====================

NOTE: The above works for most users,
however, if in your case you still see the same problem,

here is another option to try:

Please try our beta Test update.

If this may be a bug, so we need you to install the new Beta version and if its still an issue on NEW logs entries produced while running the Beta version (not the old log entries your having issues with now)

Then you can give feedback about the bug through the ZA client directly to development.

That will greatly improve the chances of it being fixed. (Not a guarantee it will be fixed)

Likely, with or without realizing it you have Unchecked those files or services in your OS (e.g. via MSCONFIG) or a third party optimization tool did it.

The anti tampering in ZA simply does not allow that unless you disable ZA within the ZA interface.

If you don't know how to fix your OS as suggested a removal and reinstall of ZA should fix unless the third party tool or the OS get again this policy from somewhere. Check the time (at boot? During use?) when this is done to have a better clue.

    Thanks,

I'm using Windows 7 x64, and this happened during normal usage. Today I found similar alert, but this time WMI Provider Host tried to delete zatray.exe file. I wasn't changed anything in msconfig. Zonealarm files (zatray.exe and Forcefield.exe) are checked in msconfig. Is it possible that third-part software is responsible for this actions (I'm using Malwarebytes Antimalware and CCleaner on a daily basis).

Yes, could be... try not to use CCleaner everyday or turn off any scheduled cleaning. Try to turn ON MBAM completely, if you have it active, and see if it makes any difference.

Sorry, no further suggestions to propose. You need to find your way. For example by using MSCONFIG and disable anything other than Checkpoint/ZA and Microsoft (both in startup and service) to identify the culprit.

Also try to follow what already suggested, a clean install with DEFAULT settings. If for any reasons ZA has corrupted settings or you are blocking any of its components, IPs, etc... then it can act weird.
