    Angry Removing this product > no version of Zone Alarm come Bundled with other Software

    I did not ask for Zone Alarm, nor do I want it on my computer. It downloaded bundled with another product I was getting to test. Now, I cannot remove it.

    I have "uninstalled" it from my Win 7 system, it no longer shows up anywhere -- except in my Google Chrome as a search engine. I have disabled it from Google, so that it is no longer listed. However it is still there.

    Very poorly behaved software. I would never recommend this sticky software to anyone.

    How do I get rid of it? I will need something unconventional, because all conventional means have been tried.

    Hello;

    You don't say much about your computer or the Version number of your Zone Alarm.. ?
    Current Supported version of ZA Free Firewall is ver. 11.0.768.000.

    AFAIK; no version of Zone Alarm come Bundled with other Software unless it was provided Bundled on a New Computer..

    If you did not Download Zone Alarm from http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en...download-b.htm,
    then there is no way Checkpoint can verify the integrity of the Zone Alarm file that you downloaded from some one else.

    Chances are that the Wow Software may have been bundled with a Hacked old version ZA Free that you downloaded from the Internet and may have been a Hacked Trojan software?

    NOTE: Here is instructions for Removing the Legitimate valid Zone Alarm product..

    1. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs)

    2. Remove other security tools installed. Use
    http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    3. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    4. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    I have a Dell, with Windows 7 installed. I don't know what the version of ZA is -- as I have already tried to uninstall it. There is not version data available.

    I hear you about bundling, but I received it when I downloaded a piece of software to create online photo albums called WOW slider. Perhaps they are not authorized?

    If it was an old version hacked, then you have no idea how I can remove it?

    Btw, There is no ZA bundled in wow slider as the installer is only 14MB (ZA does not fit in 14MB).
    Probably you have not downloaded directly from the official distributor and you may have been infected with malware.

    Best to have your system checked by malware experts at, for example, bleepingcomputer.com

    Thanks,
