Can you clarify the exact version of ZA used (right click the ZA icon near the clock, about, copy to clipboard, paste it here) ?.
Please detail your Windows OS version and Service pack upgrade?

Also if you could provide a screenshot about it.

The More information your post more likely other users here may be able to help.

Thank you for your limited info. Reply..

1.) is your Windows 7 Fully Upgraded to Service Pack one, plus all additional Microsoft Upgrades?

2.) you still do not tell us what Type and Versions of Zone Alarm you have installed, (older versions are no longer supported, you must upgrade to latest version)?

Can you clarify the exact version of ZA used (right click the ZA icon near the clock, about, copy to clipboard, paste it here) ?.
Please detail your Windows OS version and Service pack upgrade?
3.) the Screen shot you provided is a Windows 7 Taskbar and not a Zone Alarm Tool-bar?

Your Screen Shot of the Windows 7 Taskbar does not show the "Z" Zone Alarm Icon,
Windows 7 normally HIDES new Program Icons,
Click on the up arrow next to the Flag Icon and click Un-Hide the Zone Alarm Icon, to allow the Zone Alarm "Z" to appear in the Windows 7 Tray Taskbar.

I have that condition, too. On logon, the blue bar with "ZoneAlarm" printed in it displays overlayed on top of the task bar. If I click anywhere on the task bar the zonealarm blue bar repositions itself behind the task bar, but stays there. If you move the task bar to display up the right side of the screen the ZoneAlarm bar stays positioned along the bottom right corner of the screen. You can't move it and it doesn't do anything but sit there. This does NOT happen on every logon.

    Win7 Home Premium SP1
Zone Alarm Free firewall ver. 11.0.000.504
    Vsmon ver. 11.0.000.504
    driver ver. 11.0.000.026
    web identity protection ver. 1.5.393.22

And yes, Stagger, I can see the ZoneAlarm bar under the task bar in your capture.png. The word "ZoneAlarm" is hazy under the up-carat of the task bar. That's exactly what happens on my PC. Doesn't hurt anything; just puzzling/annoying.

No za processes running other than the normal zatray.

    1. Re-download the latest version of ZAfree from here: Looking for the latest version? Watch out to choose the right installer

    2. Remove you current ZA from your OS control panel (add/remove programs in XP, Uninstall an application in WIN7 or WIN8).

    3. Reboot the PC

    4. Turn ON Windows firewall if off (ZA will take care of turning it off once installed).

    5. Download and save to the desktop the ZA removal tool:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

    6. Run the ZA removal tool

    7. Reboot the PC

    8. Double check that you do not have any ZA startup item on the system.

    8. Install the latest version ZAfree you downloaded from point 1.
    without touching any default settings,
and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.
