Default After compilation my program all "Program options" resets

    Hi!

    I use ZoneAlarm Pro ->
    ZoneAlarm Pro version: 11.0.768.000
    Vsmon version: 11.0.768.000
    Driver version: 11.0.764.000

    on Win7 x64.

My program reads data from a trusted zone.
After each compile all of the options in the "Program option / Security" are reset to the initial state. Therefore, after each compilation I have to allow the program access to the trusted zone.

What should I do to have an access request?

    Thanks.

You may want to try to authenticate the program only by its location. You should find this possibility under the application control "options" (after selecting the program in the application control list).

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

    but I set
    - Authenticate program by full path name only
    - Program changes frequently
    - Smart defense - "Custom"
    No result...

Only when I set "Always allow access" in trusted zone, the alerts was gone.
But I do not want to decrease security in trusted zone...

Set DefenseNet to Manual, delete the program entry in the list. Reboot the PC, check the progam is not there (to exclude corruption of ZA databases) let it re-create the program and apply the changes. Check again if it works this time.

If not, try to set temporarely the application control to Auto (or medium) depending on the version used. You will need to set it back to MAX once you do not compile software.

If not, then I am afraid ZA is not good for your environment. In fact, ZA is designed with home users in mind and not for development purposes.

    Sorry,

    Hello;
Here is what I found using the "HELP" menu..

    Managing program components

In addition to controlling permissions for all programs on a computer, advanced users may also want to monitor and, if desired, restrict individual components that these programs load (such as DLL files or ActiveX controls). ZoneAlarm security software keeps a list of components (used by allowed programs) that have tried to access the Internet or the local network. Depending on your Application Control and component control settings, ZoneAlarm security software can simply monitor components or it can alert you each time a new component attempts access. This section explains how to access the Components List and how to change component permissions. For details about enabling component control, see Enabling Component Control.

The Components List contains a list of program components for allowed programs that have tried to access the Internet or the local network.

The Outbound column indicates whether the component is always allowed access, or whether ZoneAlarm security software should alert you when that component requests access.

By default, the Components List is organized in alphabetical order, but you can sort the components in the list by any column by clicking on the Component column header.

    To access the Components List:
    Select Application Control| View Components.

To grant access permission to a program component:

    • Select Application Control|View Components.
    • Select a component from the list, then click in the Outbound column.
    • Select Allow from the shortcut menu.

I found that can not delete entry...
I "remove" entry and press OK on Application control Settings. Window closes. Then I again open "Application control Settings" window and see, that program does not removed.
    May be database corrupted?

Yes, the ZA databases (where settings are stored) are corrupted. Try to reset them to default (tools --> preferences --> Reset to defaults --> reboot the PC). Do not restore any previous saved settings.

If you still have problems, you may need to fully remove ZA, reboot the PC, run the dedicated ZA removal tool, install back ZAPRO.

May be there is still hope

    I done this.

Programs can now be removed from the list.
But after compilation I still need answer to request for access to the internal network each time. And all the settings for this program are reset to the initial state regardless of the selected options.

Do the "option" settings stick to the program? If not, then you have still a problem with your ZA as it look like ZA is unable to save settings for a specific program in the application control.

I guess next step is to move to ZA official support (all users here) as we can't add more here on top of what we already said.
