    Default VSMON.EXE outbound connections

    VSMON.EXE outbound connections

In addition to connections that I have verified belong to
Checkpoint/Zonealarm web addresses, the VSmon.exe service has been making
outbound connections to the following three urls.
What is the SPECIFIC reason for these SPECIFIC connections? Are these urls
    authorized Zonealarm connections.

    Default Re: VSMON.EXE outbound connections

Sorry all users here no ZA development/support.

Please consider that vsmon is in between all your connections (by design). So it will be difficult to determine exactly who communicare what as it may look like its all orginating from vsmon
So, akamai is a proxy service many giants IT companies use including MS, the others I don't know.. they may orginating from anything running on the system by the time it happened...

Also many different parts of ZA need active connection, from product updates, application control, toolbar, smartdefense, etc. If you are concerned by outbound connections you should remove ZA instantly. There is nothing worst than running a security tool you do not trust. I have seen user starting to block the correct working of ZA for fearness and then ending up with an half baken solution with most been disabled, conflicts and little security been covered.

If you do not trust 100% your first line of defense then its better to remove it and find something you can trust and concentrate on external threats rather than analysing your own tools.

    Thanks,
    Fax
