    Default Phantom quarantined infections

When ZA detects an infection in an archive file (.zip), it reports that the infection is quarantined. For example, "1 infections are quarantined." However, when I view the quarantine, no files are listed there. On reboot, ZA initially reports that 0 files are quarantined but later updates the figure to reflect these phantom files.

This seems to be a new behavior. Earlier versions did not report such AV activities as quarantined. The problem now is that the number of infections reported to be quarantined does not match the number of files visible in the quarantine, and there seems to be no way to delete these phantom quarantined items (or to reset the counter to reflect only files that can be deleted or restored).

Can anyone here confirm this behavior? Does anyone know how to overcome this problem, more annoying than damaging?

Yes, malware in compressed files is deleted but counted as quarantined.
if you have a valid license you can contact, free of charge, the ZA technical support at the link in my signature. More reports, more likely they will look into it earlier than later.

Thanks for the confirmation, Fax. To the best of my knowledge, ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall - which I very much appreciate - does not entitle me to tech support. But, as this is a minor bug that does not impact performance, I can be patient for a fix.

Out of curiosity, why is the forum on "ZoneAlarm Free Firewall" a more appropriate place for my posting than the forum on "ZoneAlarm Anti-virus & Anti-spyware"? My topic does not concern the firewall aspect of the software that I am using. And the forum to which I posted - at least the title of it - does not seem to be limited to non-free versions. Anyway, to avoid future confusion, I respectfully suggest that the name of this forum (or forum section) be amended to include not just "Firewall" but also "Antivirus".

As you may already imagined this section is for the free product (with or without AV).
