Default Update ZA (Free) Error regarding administrator access req'd

When trying to update ZA free, I rec'd message saying administrator access required.
I tried to uninstall aold version to start all over and received similar message requiring admin access.
I don't understand this requirement as this is a home computer and I'm the only user.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

    Hi There.

You may need to simply reboot your computer in safe mode. On XP Home, you cannot log in as an administrator in normal mode, only safe mode. See Microsoft's KB article on the subject here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290109

Once you reboot in safe mode, then you can log in as administrator and make administrative changes to the computer. This is a limitation of Windows XP Home Edition.

    Thanks,
