    Default [SOLVED] Update Hang> Try this safe clean up procedure..

    Just installed version update, now at

    ZoneAlarm Extreme Security version: 11.0.780.000
    Vsmon version: 11.0.780.000
    Driver version: 11.0.764.000
    Antivirus engine version: 8.3.1.6
    Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1127529184
    AntiSpam version: 6.3.1.4973

    Windoze 7 64 bit

    Update hangs with "Update in progress" in popup window
    Progress bar empty at 0%

    Hello;

    Try this safe clean up procedure..

    Follow these instructions Below to clean your computer of the old version and any conflicting 3rd party Security programs, then install a clean new copy of the current supported version of ZA 12.0.104.000



    The instruction for a clean install are below




    1. Download a fresh copy of the latest ZA version

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs / Control Panel/Uninstall a program Win7/8)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Now Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings,
    and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.

    The problem was fixed by:

    1) Uninstall using control panel
    2) Run clean.exe from ZoneAlarm
    3) Install using ZASPSetup_110_780_000.exe

    Warning: If you have added any folders/files to the CheckPoint\ZoneAlarm folder, they will be deleted by the above process.
