    Default [SOLVED] Loads of tmp files not clearing.

    Hi I am newbie on here.

    As long time user of Zone Alarm Free Version, last month I upgraded

    to Zone Alarm Pro + Firewall. It is working well but, I notice when I run
    a system cleaner, Easy Cleaner, it finds around 200 tmp files from zone alarm,
    which are full of data but cannot be removed as they appear to be in use.
    At first I thought it must be the logs, so I cleared them all out.
    That didnít help, there is around 200MB of data there.


    Can anyone advise if this situation is normal?

    I run Win 7 premium 64bit on an all in one desktop
    and it pays to be economic with unused files.

    Lost it for a while there. Found it here, under free firewall.

    No, I am not running the free firewall.

    I purchased Zone Alarm Pro last month. I wonder why the post was moved?

    I did try the search but found nothing like the problem I am having.

    The other problem I am having is getting through the Zone Alarm Support firewall, if I can call it such.

    I keep getting shunted into typical answers that are not relevant to my
    inquiry. No where can I find an email address for support. I am 78 years old and don't go on Facebook or twitter. Too old to learn!

    You mentioned a link in your signature?? Unfortunately I can't find your signature. Not to worry, I found a convolute way
    to send an email to support and got an acknowledgement.

    Sorry there is no ZA e-mail support and never was since the last 10 or more years. If you move the mouse over the bottom of my message, click on "click here for ZA support". You will be redirected to the main ZA support web site. There you look for an icon with written "CONTACT US", you move your mouse over the picture and push on the left button of the mouse. Then you follow the instruction on screen.

    If you cannot contact support this way then theer is something more than ZA on your system that is blocking communication with ZA.

    If you are not happy with the answer by official support you may need to consider to move to another product that you feel more confortable with or that offer a support that you consider more suitable. In case, please ask for a refund, if applicable.

    Sounds like you have something on your PC that preventing you to access support live chat.

    Probably a plugin on the browser.

    Suggest downloading a new browser like Firefox or Chrome or Safari and use that to access chat instead of what ever browser you are having issue with.

    Chat is always up and running 24x7

    OR Try a PC at work or at a library or at a friends or relatives house and you will see it works and is isolated to your PC's.

    Some offotopic remarks needed to go. Please keep on topic "tmp files" or I will be forced to close the thread due to abuse.
    Please remember this is a user forum dealing with common ZA related issues. Other topics are out of scope for this board.

    If you are not even able to see my signature then, as already said, you have more issues on the PC than ZA. So, I would remove ZA. Try to fix the system with the help of volunteers around you or at, for example, bleepingcomputer.com forum, only then install back ZA. You may also try to access this forum from another PC to actually see the forum as it should be.

    FYI I have received an email response from Zone Alarm. The reason for the email contact was because live chat was closed:-

    "ZoneAlarm does generate some temp files when updating the antivirus, etc. Please leave them, they are needed for the operation of the program".

    So I guess I have to live with 189 temp files.

    Problem resolved to not being a problem.
