    Question VSMON Memory Error ZASS 12.0.104.000

    My system is a Pentium 4 HT using XP Pro SP3 with all "Micro Sloth" updates applied.

    Yesterday I noticed there were only 28 days left on my subscription of ZA Extreme Security ("ZAES") and as I don't use the "Tune-Up" feature I purchased, downloaded and after doing a clean uninstall of ZAES, installed the Zone Alarm Security Suite ("ZASS"):
    Zone Alarm Security Suite version: 12.0.104.000
    Vsmon version: 12.0.104.000
    Driver version: 12.0.104.000
    Antivirus engine version: 8.3.2.4
    Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1130325440
    AntiSpam version: 6.3.1.4971

    The installation itself froze on several occasions but finally installed but with a VSMON memory error when installing, uninstalling and at shutdown:
    "Instruction 0x761a1575 at 0x646210c8 could not be read" or something similar appeared.

    So I did a clean uninstall and reinstalled ZASS 12.0.104.000 with the same results.

    Therefore, I then did a clean uninstall of ZASS 12.0.104.000, downloaded and installed: Zone Alarm Security Suite 11.0.780.000 where the VSMON error on installation or shutdown does not occur.

    Driver version: 11.0.780.000
    Antivirus engine version: 8.3.1.6
    Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1130329216
    AntiSpam version: 6.3.1.4971

    Therefore my questions are:
    1. Does anyone know why 12.0.104.000 developed the VSMON error?
    2. ZoneAlarm's "Live Chat" using either IE8 and FireFox 24.0 does not work. You answer all of the form's "*" fields and click "Start Chat" and nothing happens. Any suggestions?
    3. When I installed 12.0.104.000 I lost 28 days from 2012 installation of ZAES. Does anyone know if these missing days of subscription be re-instated and how to do it?

    1. You downgraded from Extreme to Suite. ZA is not designed to downgrade one on top of the other. the proper procedure would have been to first uninstall Extreme before installing Suite from the control panel only first.
    You probably have a really bad upgrade install now that clean does not sound like it can fix.
    Only suggestion is to uninstall Suite through the control panel first.
    Second download and run clean.exe again.
    Then download and install Suite again.

    2. ZA live chat works 100% with ALL IE version and firefox 24 or higher. What prevents chat from working is when you change browser settings from there default. Or you add plug-ins or ad-ons that interfere with our chat.
    Try another browser if you cannot figure out what you changed in IE and firefox. Download and install chrome and DO NOT change any setting in chrome and chat will work.

    3. Thats correct when you buy a different product you do not get to take your current days left and apply them to a totally different product. You should just use Extreme until it expires.
    The only way to keep days left is if you RENEW the same product and in your case you would have had to stay on Extreme then when you buy it at the Renewal pricing you get the privilege of keeping days left and there added to your renewal.

    Issue with Live Chat.You could try this.If ZA Toolbar is install.On Do Not Trackme.Click to open & make sure LivePerson allow tracking.

    Liveperson is automatically excluded in Do not track in our toolbar.

    Its a default setting for our version in the toolbar. We made sure of that a long time ago before we ever introduced it.
