Thread: biblioscape doesn't work

  1. #1

    Default biblioscape doesn't work

    I use a reference/citation program called Biblioscape.
    Windows 7 Ultimate.
    ZoneAlarm 12.0.104.000
I am the only person using the computer.
    Administrator account.

Biblioscape fails because it cannot delete/write temporary files that it writes in the folder:
    C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\Temp

When ZoneAlarm is off it works fine.

I've tried altering application control settings for the program biblioscape, even turned application control off, and it still doesn't work. Did an uninstall, used clean.exe, and reinstalled, and it still didn't work.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but ...Help!!

Exact version of ZA used? Right click the ZA icon near the clock, about, copy to clipboard, paste in a reply. Remove the license key, if applicable.

    Thanks,

See if any entries in the Logs.

By default, ZoneAlarm security software creates a log entry every time traffic is blocked, whether an alert is displayed or not. Log entries record the traffic source and destination, ports, protocols, and other details. The information is recorded to a text file named ZALOG.txt, stored in the Internet Logs folder. To view ZALOG.txt look under Tools > Logs > Log Control > View Log

The easiest way to add something to the Trusted Zone is to go to Tools > Logs > Log Viewer > Firewall and see if the IP address, network, host, or site has shown up in the logs. Right-click it and choose Add to Zone > Trusted.

If unable to find any solutions in their forum.Contact ZoneAlarm Support.

I looked at the logs after I had the error, and nothing was written in either log. It seems like the problem is in application control?

    Tom
There are specific logs also for applications. You can view them at ZA tools --> Logs --> "select logs type" and check all logs.

You should try to contact the official support of that application. They should know how to set ZA to have their application working or they can test it. This is easier than ZA testing it as ZA cannot test against all applications out there.

If their support find a problem you can suggest to contact directly ZA.

    Thanks,
