    Angry Rosetta Stone Version 4 1141 Error

    I have made the following settings to Application Control for Rosetta Stone 4..

    I still get the error 1141 when starting Rosetta Stone.

    Even if I shutdown Rosetta Stone, I get the same error.

    According to Rosetta Stone, Zone Alarm has to:

    If your security program is not listed above, then please contact the provider to add the following exclusions:

    • C:\Program Files (x86 if on a 64bit machine)\Rosetta Stone\Rosetta Stone TOTALe
    • C:\Program Files (x86 if on a 64bit machine)\RosettaStoneLTDServices


    This REALLY is an intolerable situation. Can I expect a fix anytime in the near future?

    Hello,

    Sorry, This is a known issue. We are working on this issue and there is NO ETA when it will be resolved.

    Possibly in a future release of ZoneAlarm.


    Only known workaround is to shutdown ZoneAlarm when you wish to use Rosetta Stone.

    Sorry, but shutting down ZA or keeping it from starting when re-booting DOES NOT work.

    This DOES NOT resolve the 1141 error at all under Windows 7.

    Ok..

    Here is another solution (until a possible fix is available sometime in a Future version of Zone Alarm) that should allow Rosetta Stone to work..

    1. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs/Windows 7/8 Uninstall a program)

    2. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    3. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    Thanks George V but, since I have 883 days left on my ZA license removing ZA from my system doesn't seem to be a viable option for me now does it?

    Is ZA prepared to honor my license when and if they get around to resolving the problem sometime within the 883 day window?

    What is the purpose of Application Controls for software if they don't work?
    I'm assuming that you are with ZA George.... If not, my apologies for getting up in your face.

    since you have a valid ZA License, You can Contact Customer Support at link in my Signature and ask for a Refund.. (if Applicable) Select Non Technical Support link.
